JSC “Zaporizhstal” occupies one of the leading places in metallurgical industry of Ukraine and is part of the largest mining and metallurgical company - Group Metinvest.
JSC “Zaporizhstal” clearly holds the course for productivity enhancement, equipment modernization and also development and improvement of safe working conditions for the employees.
"Zaporizhstal" Steel Works produces steel hot rolled coil and sheet, cold rolled sheet and coil made of carbon, low alloyed steel grades, formed section as well as steel strip and black tin-plate. High quality of the enterprise finished product is proved by demand for it on domestic and foreign markets. It is in demand in more than 50 countries of the world (Turkey, Italy, Poland, Russia, Syria, Israel, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Nigeria and others), but Ukrainian market remains a strategic area for marketing policy of the Steel Works.
In 2014, the Steel Works has produced 3807,8 thousend tons of iron, 3979,5 thousend tons of steel and 3354,0 thousend tons of rolled stock.
Following the principle of focus on customer and increase of competitive ability of its products at the world metal markets, in 2015, «Zaporizhstal» PJSC set up production of steel with guaranteed higher content of aluminum. The new products, with their technical specifications, meet the requirements of EN 10025-1:200 European standard. The new steel grade is in demand among the European manufacturers of tube and pipe products, because it improves strength and durability of galvanized pipes lifetime. Among the consumers, there is a key Works’ client – Marcegaglia global company (Italy).
For realisation of set goals, JSC “Zaporizhstal” systematically solves strategic tasks:

• Achievement of leading positions in production field, management and organization of business processes;

• Reducing of technogenic environmental impact.
“Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works effects major modernization and reconstruction of manufacturing facilities.
The sinter machine No.1 was reconstructed and PCI plant in the Blast Furnace Shop was brought into operation in 2012. Total investments of these projects are 1 billion 240 mln. UAH
In 2013 the gas purification of sinter machine No.1 was reconstructed. In 2014, the upgraded Blast Furnace No.4 built hydrochloric acid pickling line construction at the cold Rolling Mill No.1 and gas-cleaning systems at Sinter Machine № 2. Moreover, the modernization program of the works includes gas purifying reconstruction of sinter machines No.3 –No.6, Blast Furnaces No.3 and No.5 renovation repairs, construction of the new turbo blower. For these purposes is planned to allocate about 200 mln. USD. The enterprise has a long term plan to pass to the BOF steelmaking process.
For the 2013-2014 years, «Zaporizhstal» Steel Works had invested in ecological modernization about UAH 2.25 billiard: in 2013 – more than UAH 600 million, in 2014 – over UAH 1.655 million.
